TORA: Jurnal Pengabdian Sosial Budaya is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the dissemination of impactful community engagement, social empowerment, and cultural preservation initiatives. The journal serves as a premier platform for lecturers, researchers, community organizers, and social activists to publish original articles documenting evidence-based community services, participatory action research, and innovative solutions designed to address complex socio-cultural challenges in modern society.

Scope and Topics TORA welcomes high-quality submissions that detail the planning, execution, and outcomes of community service activities. The journal’s scope focuses heavily on interdisciplinary approaches to social and cultural development, including but not limited to:

  • Community Empowerment & Social Development: Capacity building, local economic empowerment, poverty alleviation, and community-based training.

  • Cultural Preservation & Local Wisdom: Documentation and revitalization of indigenous arts, heritage conservation, traditional values, and cultural tourism.

  • Social Inclusion & Community Advocacy: Legal literacy, gender equality, institutional assistance for vulnerable or marginalized groups, and regional community analysis.

  • Education & Public Health Initiatives: Community education programs, public health campaigns, nutritional awareness, and non-formal educational development.

  • Sustainable Environmental & Infrastructure Assistance: Community-led environmental conservation, waste management education, and the application of appropriate technology for local communities.

Publication Frequency and Access TORA is published biannually (twice a year). The journal strictly adheres to an Open Access policy to ensure that practical knowledge regarding social and cultural development is widely available. All published articles are immediately, permanently, and freely accessible to researchers, policymakers, and community practitioners worldwide under a Creative Commons (CC) license, without any subscription barriers.

Peer Review Process To maintain high scholarly standards and ensure the practical significance of published works, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Independent experts in community service and social sciences evaluate the submissions based on their methodological clarity, community impact, sustainability of the program, and originality. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain strictly confidential throughout the evaluation to guarantee absolute objectivity.

Mission Statement: The mission of TORA is to bridge the gap between academic theory and community needs by fostering a robust platform for community service publications. The journal aims to accelerate the transformation of community welfare, honor cultural heritage, and promote sustainable socio-cultural innovations, driving meaningful and data-driven solutions to build inclusive, resilient, and culturally rich societies.
